Eve Ensler's " I am an Emotional Creature" at The Market Theatre

In July 2011, a local workshop production of I Am an Emotional Creature: The Secret Life of Girls Around the World ran at the Laboratory at the Market Theatre, Johannesburg
Originally published as a book by world-acclaimed playwright, author and activist Eve Ensler, I Am an Emotional Creature: The Secret Life of Girls is composed of fictional monologues and stories inspired by girls around the globe. The work boldly expresses the often-unheard voices of young girls from across the world, demonstrating both the diversity and commonality of issues they grapple with
It featured  a cast of six – including 4 undiscovered young South African actors sourced from auditions across a range of high schools in Johannesburg, The cast included Ratanang Mogotsi (age 18 yrs) from Take 10 Casting. She was chosen out of 150 + girls and went through gruelling auditions before she was cast. Ratanang is also a singer and attended the Helen O'Grady Drama Academy for 6  years.Take 10 actually had 3 girls down to the last eight . The reviews were fantastic including one from the Star newspaper which applauded the acting of the girls themselves.
Well done Ratanang ! We are so proud of you.
