Anant Singh, producer of the highly anticipated Nelson Mandela film, MANDELA: LONG WALK TO FREEDOM and the Toronto International Film Festival announced today that the film will have its first screening, with a gala event, at the 38TH edition of the Festival in September this year.

This epic motion picture spans Mandela’s extraordinary life, from his childhood in a rural village through to his inauguration as the first democratically elected President of South Africa.  MANDELA: LONG WALK TO FREEDOM is the thrilling story of an ordinary man who rose to the challenge of his times and triumphed.

Producer Singh commented, “We are delighted to have MANDELA: LONG WALK TO FREEDOM selected for the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival.  We always believed that Toronto is the perfect platform to launch the film to international audiences.  We are pleased to continue a 15 year association with the Festival which has featured many of our South African productions including RED DUST and the Oscar Nominated, YESTERDAY. The Toronto Film Festival is unique as it allows us to present the film to both industry people and regular film goers in Canada.”

In the film, three actors play Nelson Mandela – Siza Pini plays the 8 year old Mandela, Atandwa Kani plays him at 16, and Idris Elba plays the remaining years.  Others include Tony Kgoroge (Walter Sisulu), Riaad Moosa (Ahmed Kathrada), Zolani Mkiva (Raymond Mhlaba), Simo Magwaza (Andrew Mlangeni), Fana Mokoena (Govan Mbeki), Thapelo Mokoena (Elias Motsoaledi), Naomie Harris (Winnie Mandela), Lindiwe Matshikiza (Zindzi Mandela), Terry Pheto (Evelyn), Jamie Bartlett (James Gregory), Deon Lotz (Kobie Coetzee) and Gys De Villiers (President De Klerk).  The film is directed by Justin Chadwick.

Kiran Prigge (age11 yrs) landed the role of Markus in the new TV series High Rollers on SABC 3. High Rollers is a riveting new local drama series set against the backdrop of the glamorous and backstabbing world of gambling.
It is a demanding and emotional role for Kiran. Markus is the Son of David and Analine. He suffers from cystic fibrosis. Apple of his father’s eye. Computer geek – very clever – thick glasses, huge cute factor. Markus is limited to staying indoors and avoiding physical activity due to his susceptibility to allergens and illness. He looks up to his older brother and sister hugely.
Well done to Rahiwa Tabane who also had a challenging role in one of the episodes as a teenage girl who has to have an abortion.

Kite movie starring Samuel L. Jackson filmed in SA

We have just finished shooting in an International film  with Samuel L. Jackson and India Eisley ( The Secret life of The American Teenager) . We had over 70 extras being used (adults and children) and 5 of our artists are featured as gang members.

One of our adult artists, Dalton Ashitoko  had the great opportunity of being Samuel L. Jackson’s body double and had to work closely with him!! Looking forward to its release early next year.

Exciting pilot film using Take 10 Artists !

We can't at this stage release information about the pilot film that Take 10 artists were recently used in but we are keeping our fingers crossed that funding from the USA will be successful. It was very exciting for two of our young artists Jayden Da Mata and Kian du Preez who spent just under 2 hours having prosthetics applied to their faces before going on set.
